Christian Women's Job Corp. of NW Arkansas

The services offered by CWJC of NW Arkansas are for women in need who find themselves in distress because they do not have the skills to improve their employment situation. 

This volunteer-run organization helps women to help themselves.  Our classroom sessions run 10 to 12 weeks in length and offer classes in life and job skills. 

There will be Bible study included in the curriculum.  Each participant accepted into the training program will be assigned a mentor, to be their own personal “cheerleader” as they go through the training. 

Criteria for Acceptance:

CWJC of NW Arkansas was created to provide life and job skills training to women who need to develop skills for employment.  In order to empower these women for success, the following criteria are used as a guideline for acceptance into the program:

1. An applicant must be willing to accept the program requirements in areas of responsibility and self-sufficiency with a desire to gain skills and knowledge for employment.
2. An applicant must be physically and emotionally employable.  She may be receiving disability, but still employable for a part-time position. 
3. An applicant must exhibit the emotional maturity and educational background to successfully participate in CWJC classes.
4. An applicant must have her high school diploma, high school equivalency (GED) or may be admitted at the discretion of the Site Coordinator.
5. An applicant must agree to a background check.  The background check is reviewed for violent crime convictions.  Applicants with other types of convictions are reviewed and accepted at the discretion of the Site Coordinator.
6. An applicant must exhibit the willingness to make changes in behavior that will result in personal and spiritual growth.
7. An applicant must be able to provide her own transportation to the training program. 
8. No childcare is currently provided by CWJC of NW Arkansas.
9. An applicant with chemical or drug dependency issues must have ninety (90) days of sobriety and continuing attendance in a program such as Celebrate Recovery or a twelve-step program such as NA or AA. 
10. CWJC of NW Arkansas is not an employment agency.  Our purpose is to provide job training and skills to maintain employment.  We do network with agencies and provide job postings from the community as they become available.
11. CWJC of NW Arkansas accepts applicants from all religious backgrounds with no pressure to change their personal religious beliefs.   We do, however, reserve the right to present information to them from a Bible-based perspective.

Persons with needs that cannot be met by CWJC of NW Arkansas are referred to a program in the community that can help them.

CWJC of NW Arkansas desires to help women who are interested in getting a “hand-up” to make a change in their lives. 

  Women in need can be:

• widows
• women recovering from divorce
• single mothers
• abused women
• women in poverty
• women recoving from substance abuse

There is no fee for this training; the program is free. 

Class term is 10 to 12 weeks.

Currently only night classes are being offered.
